Deliver a present

Level: Pre-intermediate +

Type of Activity: This is a fun idea in which students give each other pretend gifts.

Teacher's notes:

  1. Cut up the strips of paper below.
  2. Write each of your students' names on each strip of paper. Hand out a strip of paper to each student in class. Make sure that the students do not get a strip of paper with their own names on it.
  3. Tell the students to look at the person who is written on their strips and to think of a present which would really suit that person. Tell the students that money is no object!
  4. Each student should note down the present and why they chose that particular present.
  5. Then tell the students to deliver the presents to the person who is on the strip.
  6. At the end of the activity, you could ask each student to read out the present they received and why they received that present.

Variation: Give the students a few strips of paper each and tell them to write gifts on each strip for different people. Tell them to stand up and deliver the gifts and explain to the person that they give them to why they are giving them the gifts.
